Cloud Computing

Cloud computing is delivery of resources like storage, networking software, computing unit etc. over the Internet. Means whatever services that you want to use, you can demand those resources from the cloud service providing companies by paying the cost on time basis. The goal of cloud computing is to allow users to take benefit from all of these technologies, without the need for deep knowledge about or expertise with each one of them. Cloud service providing companies are Microsoft Azure, Oracle, Amazon cloud etc.

Types of Cloud Services

Cloud services provided by cloud providers are divided into 3 categories mainly:
  1. Infrastructure as a service (IaaS):With IaaS, you can rent  IT infrastructure like services, storage, virtual _______ etc.
  2. Platform as a service (PaaS): PaaS refers to services that supply an on demand environment for developing, testing, delivering and managing software application.
  3. Software as a Service(SaaS): Provides software application, security upgrades and patches over the internet.

Top Benefit of Cloud Computing

  1. Cost: It reduces the cost because it eliminates the capital expenses on buying hardware and software and setting up.
  2. Speed: Because resource are on demand basis . So vast amount of resource can be provisioned in minutes with just few clicks.
  3. Productivity: Because there is no maintenance work regarding the servers & data centers. So IT teams can spend time on achieving more important business goals.
  4. Performance: These services are upgrading and they are latest and fast.
  5. Reliability: Cloud Computing makes data backup, disaster recovery and less expensive because data is redundant on multiple sites of cloud.
  6. Security: Cloud provider companies always offer a broad set of policy, security updates that help in protection of your data.

Types of Cloud Computing

As per the need, cloud computing servers have different different model. Not one type of cloud computing is right or enough for everyone.
  1. Public Cloud: These are owned and operated by third party provider like Microsoft Azure.
  2. Private Cloud:  It refers to cloud computing that is used by a single business for their own use. In it all hardware setup physically located at the business site.
  3. Hybrid Cloud: It combines both public and private cloud bound together. It is more beneficial than other two.
