Next Android Version Name is Not Based on Sweets, its Android 10 Not Q

If we talk about the most familiar and easy to use Mobile operation system, the first name came in our minds is Android. Other operating systems like windows or Tizen both were not successful in market. Android Operating system reached to global manufactures and audience with their devices and apps. Android has expanded beyond the phones to tablets, cars, TVs, Watches and more than 2.5 billion active devices and around the world.

Why Google Changes the Naming Conventions

Android developers has launched the many versions of android o/s with new and better features, security updates to help their users. Naming conventions of the launched versions of android are based on tasty treats or desserts in alphabetical order like kitkat, Lollipop etc.. This naming tradition has become a fun part of the release each year. But problem is that the names were not always understood by everyone in the global community.

For ex- In some languages across the world some of the letters like L & R are not distinguishable due to which they can’t differentiate. It is hard to new users, who are unfamiliar with naming convention, to understand if their phone is running latest version. We also know that pies are not a dessert in some places and that marshmallows, while delicious, are not popular treat in many parts of world.
As a global operating system it is important to change the naming conventions to make clear and relatable for everyone in the world. So After android Pie(P) the next release of android will simply use the version number and be called Android 10 not Android Q.

Google Redesigned the Logo of Android

Google has also decided to change in the logo of Android to look more modern and accessible. The design of the logo draws inspiration from the most recognizable non-human member of the community: the Android Robot.  The new logo of android has the head of android robot in green color along with the ‘android’ text in black color. Google changed the text color from green to black as green color was hard to read for visually impaired persons.
