Interesting Facts about 100 Rupee Coin


Modi government in the remembrance of former prime minister of India Mr. Atal Bihari Vajpayee  released 100 Rs coin a day before his 94th birth anniversary which will also be celebrated as good governance day. It is a commemorative coin with Atalji's picture and name printed on it. This coin is different from the 1,2,5 and 10 rupees coin which are already in circulation. This coin will not come into circulation like the other common coins. It will be sold at premium rates of Rs 3,300 to Rs 3,500.


This coin is made from the combination of four different types of metal. In 35 gram of 100 Rs coin, it consists of 50% silver, 40% copper, 5% Zinc and 5% of Nickel. On one side of the coin there is a picture of Atal Bihari Vajpayee and Ashok pillar on the other side. Below the Ashok pillar, Satyamev Jayate is written with inscription of "100 rupee". Other than that "Bharat" is also written is hindi as well as english.


 As per the reports, the designing and casting of the coin is done by Mumbai Mint. People are also able to buy this coin directly from the mint.

Atalji's name is writen on the coin in Hindi and English language. At the bottom of his picture is hus birth year 1924 and death year 2018.


In terms of price and weight 100 Rupee coin is more heavier than that of the other coins of rupees 1, 2, 5 and 10. Weight of 10 rupee coin is 8 gram whereas the weight of 5 rupee coin is 9 gram.
