WhatsApp update: users will get the expiring media feature

WhatsApp keeps updating new ones according to the need of the users. Many work features are going to be added in the coming days. Meanwhile, the company has started testing another new 'Expiring Media' feature. The special feature of this feature is that as soon as the user sees any media file such as photo, video, jiff or others, it will disappear from the phone.

WABetaInfo, a website tracking the WhatsApp feature, has shared a screenshot of this feature. According to his report, media files sent through the expiring media feature will disappear as soon as the recipient moves away from the chat window.

This is how this feature will work:

above image shows that this feature can be accessed through a dedicated timer button. To add a media file to a chat, the user has to tap on that button. After this, the selected media files will expire.

WhatsApp will highlight such media files with a timer icon to let the user know that the shared files will disappear after leaving the chat.

According to WABetaInfo, it is in the feature development stage. Initially this feature can be released for Android users, later it can also be released for iPhone.

WhatsApp's expiring media feature is similar to Snapchat and Instagram, where Instagram allows users to send display photos and videos via direct message. The Instagram group also allows the user to send the missing media files. However, no such feature is currently available on WhatsApp for group users.
