Use of BLE and ultra-wideband technology

According to details shared by the company, the SmartThings Find app searches for lost Galaxy devices using Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) and ultra-wideband technology. After locating the device, this app allows the user to access the locked device via map and sound.

Supports devices with these OS

This Samsung app can work on Galaxy smartphones and tablets operating on Android 8 and later OS. It is also compatible with Galaxy Watches that work on Tizen 5.5 or later. Galaxy Buds Plus and Galaxy Buds Live have started receiving OS updates for this feature.

Samsung said that after the device is offline for 30 minutes, BLE signals start coming out of it, which other devices can receive. After this the SmartThings app can be used with the signal that you are using to search for a lost device.

Can make the device 'ring'

Any nearby Galaxy device using this service gives the location information to the Samsung server and after that Samsung passes it on to the user. After reaching close to the device, you can 'ring' it as you wish, or you can also find it through AR based search. Its special thing is that the user's data remains completely safe due to encryption.
