Android 12: Dynamic and Expressive features

Googles mobile operating system android is now very popular among the smartphone users and easy to use interface in smartphones. That is the reason Google is continuously releasing the new version of Android to give upgraded and new features, to meet the expectation of users. With each version Google is trying to make Android Os more smarter, better performing, privacy and security to give immersive experience to users.


As technology changes very rapidly in terms of hardware and along with it new security challenges also comes, so up-gradation of older version to new version is a requirement to counter these security challenges and to meet compatibility with the hardware.


Whats new in Android 12?

Android 12 is the next release of mobile operating system after Android 11, Google has already released the beta version of Android 12 for some devices to take the feedback from the users  and developers before the final release of Android 12. In Android 12 many new features have been added to give more smarter, smoothing and immersive experience to the users. Visual Experience 

Android 12 has made the huge changes in visuals like themes, lock screen, widgets, shapes and colors which provide more customization for users to make that ultimately give a dynamic, expressive and personalized  experience. The system is designed in such a manner that your device becomes fast and more responsive with better power efficiency. In Lock screen when you dismisses the appeared notification, the digital clock will appear in larger size.

 

In Android 12 color extraction methodology is used which will provide you a personal experience. When you choose your wallpaper, the system automatically extracts the dominant colors and then it applies those colors across the whole system  like notification bar, widgets, settings, apps and much more.


Redesigned Spaces: For efficient utilization of the space, Google has redesigned the notification shade, quick settings and power button. When you swipe down for Quick settings, then the system setting options will appear in larger size and with extracted color for more clarity.Google pay and home controls are also added in quick setting. The notification shade will also appear more clear with at a glance view of app notification.


Android 12 has added more functions of Power button like get help from Google Assistant, open apps, ask questions by long pressing the power button.   


Widgets: Android 12 has changed widgets layouts completely in a new way. Widgets now will have rounded corners and they use the device theme color for background and other components. Users will now be able of re-configuring the widgets layout by long press on widgets.


 Privacy and Security

Android 12 includes many new features to  give more secure environment. It has provided new privacy dashboard on which you can monitor all the apps permission settings and check which app is accessing what type of data  and how often. User can restrict  apps from accessing data using this dashboard.


If you have used iOS 14, then let us tell you that similarly Google has included a new indicator. It is visible in the top-right corner of the screen. It is visible when any installed app accesses the microphone or camera of the smartphone. There are also two new toggles in the Quick Settings panel that remove app access to the system's microphone and camera.


Apart from this, Android 12 has come with an approximate location permission. In this, you can decide whether you want to share the exact location or share the estimated location with the apps on the phone. This is very important, as apps with weather updates do not require accurate location. At the same time, an app hibernation feature has also been given in Android 12. It hibernates the apps which are not being used for the extended period. This will help in increasing the security of the users and the storage and performance of the phone will also be customized. Google has built this feature on the auto-reset permission introduced last year. At the same time, Google has also introduced Android Private Compute Core as a built-in sandbox in Android 12 to make users' information private and store local. The new offering will come with features like Live Caption, Now Playing and Smart Reply.


Performance

To give the fast performance some redesigning is dome at the processing level, the core claims to reduce the CPU time required for system service by up to 22% and the system servers to reduce the use of large cores by up to 15%. This will help in a faster and more responsive experience.


How to download Andriod 12 Beta version


Currently, the Android 12 Beta 1 update is available for Google Pixel 3, Pixel 3 XL, Pixel 3A, Pixel 3A XL, Pixel 4, Pixel 4 XL, Pixel 4A, Pixel 4A 5G and Pixel 5. If you want to install the beta release on your Pixel phone, you will need to enroll the smartphone from the Android 12 beta site. Once you're enrolled, Android 12 Beta will be available for download on your phone. You can also check its availability manually, for which you have to go to Settings, then to System, then to System Update, then to Check for Updates. It may take some time for the beta release to reach your phone.


 If you do not have a Pixel phone, then let us tell you that Google has also released a list of third party smartphones for Android 12 Beta 1 that are part of the Android 12 Developer Preview Program. These smartphones include Asus ZenFone 8, OnePlus 9, OnePlus 9 Pro, Oppo Find X3 Pro, TCL 20 Pro 5G, Tecno Camon 17, iQoo 7 Legend, Mi 11, Mi 11 Ultra, Mi 11i, Mi 11X Pro, Realme GT and ZTE. Includes Axon 30 Ultra 5G. If you have any of these smartphones, then you can check the process of installing the first public beta release of Android 12 by visiting the manufacturing link available on the Android Developers site. Google introduced the first developer preview for Android 12 in February. During that time it was limited to Google Pixel only.
